Description

Corporate Consciousness is a book that offers a fresh perspective on business and organizational effectiveness. It provides a comprehensive guide to improving workplace efficiency, understanding key business concepts, and achieving success through change management and corporate social responsibility. It is a valuable resource for scholars, students and educators, and corporate executives.

Corporate Consciousness looks at corporations overall, rather than focusing on a few business entities, which allows for a broader, deeper and philosophical, yet practical, understanding of business and the business sector, particularly the fundamentals of corporate culture. In effect, Corporate Consciousness explains how successes and failures can be identified, as well as how they can be managed in line with what a business aims to achieve.

Biography

Reviews

"What is a suitable relationship between an individual and the organization for which they work? If we are to believe that the purpose of the firm is to extract value from labour for its own benefit or, equally, that the individual is irrelevant to the stock value maximization process, then there is very little reason to put much thought into the relationship at all. If, however, we believe that the corporation can pursue its objectives while still being a good citizen and neighbour, then it is appropriate to consider our treatment of or by our employer. This is the line taken by author Cornelis Reiman (with whom I once worked). In Corporate Consciousness, he describes a world in which it is possible to identify and analyse an efficient corporation and seek to emulate it, while also being able to identify an inefficient corporation and seek to remedy its shortcomings. This is something an individual can accomplish and should do so in order to flourish in an organization which is itself blooming. In a characteristically analytical manner, Reiman provides practical lessons for executives, individual employees and scholars of all levels. His prose is appropriate to the material covered and the various charts and diagrams help to explain his concepts and also provide a structured framework for the book itself. It is a valuable contribution to the kind of business book that promotes sustainable capitalism. Many readers will benefit from being provided with step-by-step instructions to bring a high-performing member of a high-performing organization."
- John Walsh, Dean of the British International College, Krirk University
