This book argues that an Islamic Finance approach may provide a better alternative. Environmental and ecosystem sustainability necessitates sustainable finance. The current risk-shifting economic model cannot provide the stable, sustainable financing required for a transition to a low-carbon, sustainable environment. In fact, this financing regime is a primary driver of ecological degradation.
