Description

Research into the causes and creation of right-wing extremists has been focused on the group level, mainly ignoring individual right-wing extremist behaviors, characteristics, and traits. Although group milieu strongly affects individuals' ideology and personal decisions, it overlooks the right-wing extremist's unique experiences, cognitive abilities, and biases. This unique biographical study and research examines the life course events of twenty-five individual right-wing extremists, identifying common biological and circumstantial correlates among and between the subjects. The results of the analysis created an individual right-wing extremist profile that can assist law enforcement agencies, academic researchers, the intelligence community, and the criminal justice system, by making a list of factors that can be used to identify individuals that may be predisposed to the use of violence in the furtherance of their political, religious, and social ideologies. The book also includes analysis of the events of the violent insurrection at the United States Capital in Washington, DC, on January 6th, 2021.
