Description
This book presents a bold thesis: among the many global threats humanity faces, climate change is the paramount harm demanding urgent priority. Combining insights from international law, moral philosophy, political economy, and environmental science, Ranking Global Harms offers a new evaluative framework for comparing systemic global threats. By demonstrating that climate change uniquely threatens the social fabric sustaining civilization, this book challenges prevailing narratives that place nuclear war, terrorism, pandemic, or technological risks at the center of global concern.
It is an important addition to the literature on climate change, government, law, and environmental science.
