Description
This book examines how relationships and exchanges within team advice networks influence who speaks up, to whom, and why. Drawing on the Leader–Member Exchange (LMX) framework and Social Network Analysis (SNA), it explores leadership as an emergent, relational process rather than a formal position.
Using empirical data from multiple large organizations in India, the book demonstrates that both high-quality leader–member exchanges and advice network centrality jointly shape promotive and prohibitive forms of voice. In doing so, it develops the concept of 'Networked Voice' — a theoretical model explaining how communication structures and relational quality interact to enable or inhibit upward voice in organizations.
