Description

Safety is a key factor in the development of tourism, both globally and locally. This applies to all areas of the tourism industry, and this study focuses on the growing field of hospitality and spa tourism. In recent years, the perception of safety amongst guests and employees in the industry has had a significant impact on the development of tourism. Guests demand and expect high quality tourism services, and the guarantee of adequate security.

Corporate security as a subsystem of management is one of the newer models of corporate governance. The study explores the perspectives and dimensions of both guests and employees, whose actions and attitudes determine the need for corporate security in spa resorts.

The empirical research is based on a quantitative study. A conceptual model of operational safety in spa resorts was developed based on a thorough and critical review of literature and sources, data analysis and practical findings. This original conceptual model enables theoretical and empirical validation and contributes to the conceptual development, understanding and improvement of models of corporate security in spa tourism. This is particularly important for researchers and professionals in the fields of tourism and security. The conceptual model of corporate security also facilitates further research in spa tourism management and the hospitality industry. This new book is a valuable specialist resource for researchers, policy makers and tourism practitioners.
