Description

This edited collection focuses on the interconnected themes of compassion and ethics, digital futures, and practice in times of crisis, with particular attention to the ethical dimensions of digital innovation and emerging technologies. It highlights the importance of compassion as a prosocial motivation and explores its relevance within increasingly digitalized social work and educational environments. The book examines how compassion can be harnessed to promote collective well-being, strengthen prosocial behavior, and enhance learning and professional practice. By bringing these themes together, the book offers a forward-looking perspective on how social work and related professions can respond effectively, ethically, and innovatively to complex and rapidly changing environments.

The collection also highlights emerging research and examples of best practice in adapting to online and blended modes of learning and teaching. It examines the implications of these developments for educational quality, accessibility, inclusion, and student engagement. Particular attention is given to the challenges faced by university students in contemporary contexts and to the future directions required for fostering compassionate leadership that is effective, equitable, transparent, and inclusive.

Covering a broad range of issues, the book serves as a valuable resource for students, educators, pre-service teachers, school and university administrators, education providers, researchers, policymakers, and academics.
