Description

Creative Methods and Social Research explores the growing role of creativity in contemporary social research. Bringing together scholars from different methodological traditions, the volume examines how creative artefacts and practices contribute to the production, interpretation, and dissemination of sociological knowledge.

The book addresses both the use of creative materials, from literary and visual sources to performative and digital artefacts, as objects of social inquiry, and the adoption of creative practices as research tools within empirical settings. It discusses the opportunities and challenges these approaches present for social science, with particular attention to questions of epistemology, ethics, representation, and analytical rigour.

Drawing on a wide range of perspectives and empirical experiences, the volume offers researchers and advanced students a critical overview of current debates on creative methods and their relevance for qualitative, mixed-methods, and interdisciplinary research.
