Description
Ethics in Banking examines cases of unethical behaviour in banking over the last two decades that were detrimental to the interests of society in Europe. The book extends its view to the future in the context of the changing global financial and political landscape and elaborates on the virtuous action in this respect.
The book takes an empirical approach in examining the role of supervisory and regulatory authorities, and analysing the effectiveness of supervisory actions and regulations that aim to ensure ethical conduct in banks. Coverage includes definitions of ethics in banking, a review of European regulations, the role of governments and central banks, and the emerging challenges of AI in banking regulation and oversight.
The book aims to be an important reference tool for research students and academics, as well as practitioners and policymakers in banking law.
